Exact PARIS timing, sample by sample
The timeline above and the WAV file are produced from the identical timing plan, so what you see is exactly what you hear. At 20 WPM a dot is 60 ms, a dash 180 ms, the gap between letters 180 ms and the gap between words 420 ms. Short 4–5 ms attack and release ramps keep the edges click-free without smearing the rhythm.

What WAV file does MorseAtlas produce?
A standard 16-bit PCM mono WAV at 44.1 kHz — playable everywhere from phones to editors like Audacity or Premiere. Rendering happens in your browser; the file never touches a server.
How is the speed calculated?
Speed follows the international PARIS standard: the word PARIS takes exactly one minute at 1 WPM, so one dot lasts 1200 divided by your WPM. Dashes are three dots long, letter gaps three units, and word gaps seven.
Which pitch should I choose?
600 Hz is the common default and sounds pleasant. Radio operators often use 500–700 Hz. Higher pitches (800+) are easier to hear in noisy environments or on small speakers.
Sine or square wave?
Sine waves sound smooth and natural. Square waves have a buzzy, radio-like edge that stands out against background noise — useful for practice materials or alert tones.
