Privacy Policy

The short version

Your text and audio stay on this device. All Morse translation, audio generation and audio decoding run locally in your browser. Nothing you type, paste, record or drop into MorseAtlas is uploaded to any server.

What we process locally

• Text translation: runs entirely in your browser tab. Closing the tab discards it.
• Audio files: dropped or selected for decoding are read by your browser and analyzed in a Web Worker on your device. They are never transmitted.
• Microphone: recording happens locally; the analysis runs in this tab only. Access stops the moment you stop recording or close the page.
• WAV downloads: generated on your device from your input.

Settings stored on your device

Your speed (WPM), tone pitch and volume preferences are saved in your browser's localStorage under the key morseatlas:settings. Your text is never saved. Clearing site data removes these settings.

Analytics

MorseAtlas may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which tools are used. Events contain no user content: never your input text, translated output, filenames, or audio. Properties are limited to coarse values such as page name, input length bucket and WPM bucket.

Share links

The Share button copies a link containing your message (for example ?text=SOS) to your clipboard. That text is part of the URL you choose to share — think of it like any link you send. We do not generate or store these links server-side.

Hosting and logs

Like every website, our hosting provider may record standard technical request data (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and operations. This data is not used to profile you.
